  • Abstract
This paper addresses the synthesis problem of Petri net (PN) by adopting a global, local, and incremental synthesis approach, the new knitting technique (NKT), for flexible manufacturing systems. The original knitting technique (OKT) has been applied to PN modelling and analysis of communication networks and manufacturing systems. The contribution of this work is primarily the extension of OKT such that KT can be used to synthesize more complicated Petri nets
