  • Abstract
It is a promising method to improve multi-core system´s performance significantly by adding accelerator cores specified for computationally intensive applications. However, choosing suitable accelerator cores and evaluating their effect in accelerating specific applications are difficult. In this paper, we present a novel virtual prototyping, based on OVP models, TLM-2.0 interface and NOC model, to model and simulate accelerator cores in the system level. We design a complete system with embedded accelerators using the method named Semihosting. Therefore, it is expected to facilitate designers to identify suitable accelerators effectively and efficiently. This approach is validated using an actual application module of LTE downlink.
