Abstract
In practical cognitive radio, perfect detection of idle channels can not be guaranteed, unavoidably leading to interference to primary system. In this letter, the problem of allocation of sensing time over multiple channels to minimize the aggregate interference to primary system subject to the constraints that interferences in each channel are kept below some constants is considered. By exploiting the hidden convexity of this problem, the optimal solution is obtained by reliable and efficient algorithms. Simulations the optimal solution can considerably mitigate the aggregate interference to primary system.
