Abstract
This paper focuses on the use of the Smoothed Pseudo Wigner-Ville Distribution in the analysis of Arabic speech signals. In this context, a new separable parametric function is proposed. The application of the proposed function to the analysis of vowel-consonant, consonant-vowel and vowel-consonant-vowel transitions of Arabic speech has allowed a successful detection and pursuit of different signal formants.
