Abstract
The cellular IP protocol is one of the conventional mechanisms for the micro-mobility management. In order to provide the seamless mobility in local domain, it introduces the semi-soft handover scheme. However, this scheme causes the packet loss and duplication problem for the downlink services during the micro-domain handover. To solve these problems, we propose an efficient micro-domain handover mechanism using the suitable cross delay in order to minimize the packet loss and the duplication problem in cellular IP. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme solves the problems of the existing handover mechanisms.
