  • Abstract
    This paper analyzes the Forest visual modelling content and basic technical characteristics. For people having higher requirements of forest visualization, we proposed a visualization prototype system of forestry based on the concept of data cube. The prototype system provides forestry operator with the service of browsing forestry data and various management plans. Based on the concept of data cube, the entire forest is a data cube, each individual tree as a basic data cube. By using the data cube design by us, we could construct the virtual forest on different scale using less computer memory. With the help of the visualization system, we can compute the spatial construction information of the forest and adjust the spatial structure, providing a basic platform and virtual environment for other researchers to study spatial structure of forest.
