Abstract
The arteriosclerosis is increasing an aging or varying our life style in Japan. The arteriosclerosis of the common carotid artery is diagnosed using intima-media thickness (IMT) which is obtained from echocardiogram. Up to the present, some methods of IMT measurement have been proposed. So, obtained IMT cannot represent properties of common carotid artery but except the only one measured point. And, measurements of IMT are defined as the average distance of interface between vessel tissue layers. In this paper, we measure IMT on the overall common carotid artery, and examine their variance comparing the normal subject with arteriosclerosis.
