Abstract
This paper proposes an investigation of binary and quaternary modulation schemes for ultra wide band systems using differential receiver architectures. The expressions for the signal to noise ratio (SNR) and bit error rate (BER) are derived taking into account the code effect, the trade-off between time correlation window width and front-end filter bandwidth. The analysis points out that the quaternary modulation scheme outperforms binary modulations in terms of BER.
