  • Abstract
Miniaturized thin-film biosensors integrated on a flexible substrate were developed for In vivo applications and for use In clinical analyzers. A glucose, a lactate sensor and a pH-sensor was integrated. Both enzyme sensors are based on the measurements of H2O2 produced by the enzymes glucoseoxidase and lactateoxldase respectively. The solid state pH-sensor uses a neutral carrier membrane. The Intended use of this device is the monitoring of metabolic parameters in the intensive care unit and the operation theatre and the application in clinical analyzers. The glucose-, lactate- and pH-sensor were tested in buffer solutions, serum and whole blood showing excellent performance.
