Abstract
This paper considers the question of calibrating gyro orthogonal group in segments and compensating installation errors. A connection method to calibrating in segments is proposed to improve the calibration accuracy, and an approach to calculating and compensating the installation errors is presented in order to apply the complex non-linear model to the actual gyro orthogonal group expediently. According to the results of an experiment designed carefully, we can get the matrices which represent the non-orthogonal errors and the disalignment errors caused by the installation. After being compensating the installation errors, the gyros in the orthogonal group can be calibrated as single gyros. The single gyros are calibrated in segments, and a rotation approach is proposed to connect the discrete segments. The comprehensive utilization of a variety connection approaches makes residual errors be minimal. Eventually, we will find the approach proposed here is actually easy to implement and effective by an experiment of a fiber optic gyro orthogonal group.
