Abstract

A summary of Remote Sensing and GIS programs and projects conducted by UBITEK and MRC of TUBITAK between 1991-2001 is given. GIS infrastructure for Watershed development projects; The project goal has been present natural, economical and social parameters of the target area for planners and administrators in a digital environment in the form of a GIS. Grain acreage estimation by satellite remote sensing, erosion mapping by satellite remote sensing, agro-ecological zoning by RS/GIS at some provinces, disaster (forest fires) monitoring by satellite images and satellite images mosaic of Turkey with provinces boundaries.
