  • Abstract
This paper proposes algorithms that will enhance the practical use of modal analysis applied to s-domain models of AC power networks. The s-domain model allows an easy modeling of frequency dependent parameters and transmission lines in AC networks. It also presents several advantages as compared to state-space and descriptor system models. Algorithms for the calculation of system poles, transfer function residues and frequency response are developed. Results on the use of these algorithms are included
