Abstract
The delay-locked loop (DLL) is a synchronization device that is often used for PN-code tracking in spread spectrum systems. The delay detector characteristic of the DLL has a major impact on its performance. Some extensions to provide a modified detector characteristic have been proposed in the past. This paper generalizes the modifications to the DLL and shows how the performance can be compared. The focus of the performance criteria is on tracking jitter and loop robustness against loss of lock
