Abstract
The World Wide Web has generated considerable interest in using the Internet to distribute educational materials. Going beyond materials distribution to using the Internet to effectively support learning is more complicated. This paper is an examination of the issues that arise in using the Internet to support students and instructors in the learning process. It proposes an architecture that will enhance communication between faculty and student, enable online test-taking and encourage inquiry-based learning
