Abstract
Based on resource-based theory and social network theory, the moderating effect of environmental competitiveness on the relationship among complementary resources, status similarity and partnership formation analyzed. The results show that although firms need to develop partnership based on complementary resources and similar status, this relationship may vary with the level of environmental competitiveness. Environmental competitiveness negatively moderates the relationship between resource complementarity, status similarity and partnership formation.
