  • Abstract
This paper presents a resource allocation framework for the transmission of heterogeneous services in two-hop orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) cooperative relay systems. An optimal adaptive power and subcarrier allocation scheme is proposed to maximize the system throughput while satisfying the quality of service (QoS) requirements of both the real-time (RT) and nonreal-time (NRT) service for point-to-point transmission, and a sub-optimal fast search algorithm is proposed for practical implementation. Then, the idea is extended to point-to-multipoint transmission of heterogeneous services. Optimal solution is provided, and a fastest-power-descending based power and subcarrier allocation algorithm is proposed. Simulation results show that the proposed schemes improve the spectral efficiency while guaranteeing the QoS of each user.
