Abstract
In the application of 3D-volume reconstruction from 2D image slices acquired by a confocal scanning laser microscope errors arise due to refractive index mismatch. This paper presents a brief theoretical analysis of this error that can lead to miscalculating a specimen´s 3D geometry. A comparison between the error analysis and experimental measurements is also provided
