Abstract
A new method of simulating photodiode nonlinearities is proposed. This model can incorporate nonuniform absorption, physical effects with multiple disparate time constants, and is compatible with circuit components defined in the frequency domain. The saturated output power of a waveguide photodiode is simulated under several different load conditions, with excellent agreement between measurement and theory.
