  • Abstract
In this paper, a front-end receiver architecture is proposed to implement the single-chip CMOS multi-standard application for WCDMA/GSM/DECT. In the receiver, all analog front-end building blocks are shared by the three standards. One programmable Δ-Σ modulator A/D converter is used for the analog-to-digital conversion. The receiver chain is analyzed and building block specifications are determined based on the novel architecture, which can be realized by the-state-of-art CMOS IC circuitry without difficulty. Compared with other receiver architectures, it has much less complexity and consumes much lower power
