Abstract
A 92-96 GHz W-Band power amplifier is designed and analyzed in this paper. A low loss rectangular wave guide-to-microstrip finline transition is proposed to integrate the waveguide structure with the planar circuits of monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) amplifier. The measured results show that the insertion loss of the back-to-back rectangular waveguide-to-microstrip finline transition is less than 2 dB and return loss is better than 27 dB over 92-96GHz. In addition, the DC voltage-stabilizing power supply circuit as bias circuit of the amplifier is presented. This amplifier has a measured saturated output power of 18.3dBm at 95GHz. It can be used in power combiner to obtain a higher output power.
