Abstract
Dioctyl phthalate (DOP) content in garlic bolts and pollution effectiveness of DOP on physiological properties of garlic bolts were investigated. Result showed that the amount of DOP in garlic bolts from different habitats varies significantly. DOP had bad effects on chlorophyll content of garlic bolt, especially the chlorophyll A when the concentration of DOP reached 0.05g/L. DOP has hastened effects on oxygenation in velum according to the accumulation of malonic dial aldehyde (MDA). Moreover, POD activity increased but SOD activity decreased in garlic.
