Abstract
IEEE802.16 is a revolutionized wireless access technology. The challenging task for the implementation of it is the QoS provision. Though QoS is guaranteed by the standard, the algorithm is left to the vendors. In our paper, we discuss the QoS issue in WiMax, where the fairness is ensured on the foundation of sufficient QoS. An algorithm for Call Admission Control is proposed to allow more admissions on the premise of guaranteeing the QoS for all services. Furthermore, a bandwidth allocation mechanism for burst bandwidth allocation is presented and applied to deal with the burst contention problem. The simulation results prove the efficiency of our scheme.
