Abstract
This article presents the concept of equivalence principle to do the thermal analysis in three-dimensional ICs design. A volume integral equation is presented here of which the Green function for the equation is used to derive the integral solution by the establishment of equivalent heat source model. The relationship between the temperature and the heat flux on the surface of the anisotropic media is generated in an explicit way and the domain mapping technique is applied to derive the analytical solution to this problem. The validity of the proposed scheme is demonstrated by numerical examples where the results are compared with analytical solution.
