Abstract
We explore the feasibility of implementation of ZnSe/Zn1-x MgxS1-ySey/Zn1-uMg uS1-vSev separate confinement heterostructure (SCH) quantum well (QW) lasers by theoretical studies of their output characteristics. The calculations were performed for 1 mm long bar SCH QW laser structures. The physical model used in this work is based on the self-consistent solution of Poisson´s equation, the current continuity equations, including the thermionic emission theory for carrier transport across heterojunctions, the photon rate equation, and the scalar rate equation for the optical field
