  • Abstract
    In this paper, we present a novel power divider with enhanced physical and electrical port isolation as compared to a standard Wilkinson divider. We obtain the improvement by placing the isolation element between the λ/4 high impedance transmission lines at an arbitrary phase angle, Θ, instead of Θ=90° as in the standard Wilkinson divider. As a result, the outputs of our new divider are both physically and electrically isolated. We first develop the theoretical relation between Θ and the required isolation elements. We then demonstrate the performance of our new divider in MMIC form by comparing its simulated and measured performance to a conventional Wilkinson power divider.
