Abstract
The theoretical methods of analysing the modes of waveguides of metallic walls were established and described in details in Marcuvitz´s (1951) handbook of waveguides. However, the analysis of waveguides of elliptic sector with finite extended angle has not been received much attention. We investigate the modes of metallic waveguides of elliptic sector. Such analysis requires the formulation and computation of Mathieu wave functions of real order, that satisfy either the Dirichlet or the Neumann boundary conditions.
