Abstract
An improved multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm for time of arrival (TOA) estimation in multipath channels, the L-MUSIC method, is proposed. The L-MUSIC is, in fact, a special weighted MUSIC algorithm. Simulation results proved that the new algorithm has a better performance than the original MUSIC method in two aspects: close paths and large number of paths. The algorithm can be applied in a radio frequency identification (RFID) positioning system to achieve high accuracy over a short range.
