Abstract
A number of recent pervasive computing applications are referred as "social" in that they operate by exchanging and aggregating user profiles to provide highly-contextualized information. To support the development of such applications it is important to rely on a proper model and infrastructure taking care of basic operations like profile aggregation and exchange, and providing an overall sound environment in which to design applications. In this paper we illustrate how to code an exemplary social application by means of the SAPERE framework and we discuss the advantages of such an approach. We also present experiments to assess the adoption of such a platform.
