Abstract
Stator permanent magnet (PM) motors, namely, flux-switching PM (FSPM) motor, double salient PM (DSPM) motor and flux reversal PM (FRPM) motor, have attracted more and more attentions for a lot of fields. In despite of the different PMs location, the three kinds of stator PM motors share several features in the structure, such as both of the PMs and armature windings are housed in the stator, the rotor is designed to be a simple iron core with salient teeth and the concentrated non-overlapping armature windings are usually adopted. However, this kind of motor suffers from the design limitation and the further power density improvement due to the concentrated non-overlapping armature windings structures.
