Abstract
Faulted mode condition for multiphase induction machines means that one or more phases of supply are removed. Modelling the machine under these conditions presents many questions for squirrel cage topology about consideration of the fictive rotor winding. In this way, this paper presents a comparison between two assumptions on considering the modeling of the six phase induction machine with squirrel cage. The first assumption is based on the consideration that the fictive rotor winding is composed of six balanced dimension while the second one is based on the existence of five balanced rotor windings for the rotor. The speed spectrums obtained in simulation with the two models are compared with the experimental one to define the most suitable model for 6PIM in faulted condition.
