Abstract
An increasing number of scientists and engineers are now working as freelance consultants, some out of choice, some because of the telecom bust. Based on author own experience, and bearing in mind the wide span of possible types of consulting work, author will discuss the pros and cons, and the do and don´ts of working as an independent consultant
