Abstract
A novel global quality of transmission (QoT) optimization scheme is proposed for GMPLS-based reconfigurable transparent optical networks. By perceiving and controlling the transmission impairments and state of tunable compensators, dynamic QoT optimization is implemented on the fly. Simulation results show that, the proposed QoT optimization can avoid unnecessary compensator adjustment and lower operating expenditure than other schemes.
