  • Abstract
Tension measurement of tendon employed in PreStressed Concrete (PSC) bridge is very important for the bridge safety check. For the measurement of tensile stress of the tendon, many different methods such as acoustics, fiber optics, and electro-magnetics are employed. In this work, to measure tensile stress by mean of magnetic method, we have constructed a measuring system. Ac or dc current was applied the 7-strand tendon directly to magnetize circular direction. Tensile stress was applied to the tendon by means of hydraulic piston which can apply force up to 0.3 MN, and 0.5 MN load cell to measure force.
