Abstract
Maggots are known for their anti-microbial properties in chronic wound healing. This paper presents research investigating the effects of maggot metabolites in combination with ciprofloxacin against Staphylococcus aureus. The screening process used was a microchannel-based separation and mixing system. The results demonstrate that for similar levels of efficacy, the partial substitution with the maggot metabolite muted the adoption of antibiotic resistance by the bacteria.
