Abstract
An application to one-dimensional compressible flows of a general bond-graph approach for computational fluid dynamics (BG-CFD), developed in previous papers by the authors, is presented. The shock-tube problem is modeled and simulated by this novel approach, and the results are compared against the available analytical solution. The numerical simulation shows that, even with the simple shape and weight functions selected for this case, the BG-CFD approach is able to deal with really complex non-linear flow problems in which all the thermodynamic aspects are taken into account.
