Abstract
The sedimentation model provide the robust frame platform about sedimentation process simulations. It can predict the sedimentation process factors such as the hindered settling velocities of various feed solid concentrations, underflow concentrations, solids retention time etc. But the simulation depends strongly on the model parameters which derive from the settling measurement and rheological test. In this paper, both two simple tests, that is batch settling test and slump test, are recommended, which can be conducted in site. The results show the simulation data can match the experiment data closely and the errors are less than 5% and that the new testing methods recommended are feasible for the industry applications of the thickening model and can be used to various industrial materials.
