Abstract
The design and implementation of a series of robust controllers for a typical induction motor are presented. The design procedure is based on the combination of classical control tools and Field Oriented Control. This results on designs having very attractive characteristics for industrial applications due to the fact that the controllers are linear, low order, robust to rotor resistance variations and designed according to classical performance specifications, which is a combination of characteristics that has been historically difficult to achieve. A series of real time experiments completes the study and confirms the validity of the designs. Guidelines for the application of the design process here proposed to any motor are also included.
