Abstract
A new system for PN code acquisition to alleviate undesirable effects of fading in code division multiple access (CDMA) cellular communication has been proposed in this paper. In the case of a slow channel, where the gain can be approximated with sufficient accuracy, this estimated value could be compensated so that the aberrations (in terms of amplitude) of the received signal can be minimized. The simulation for a computer modeled system shows a considerable decrease in the acquisition time for the new system, which implies that fading has been countered to a considerable extent.
