Abstract
The properties of potassium zinc hexacyanoferrate absorbing cesium were studied in this paper including particle size distribution, isotherm, kinetics and the mechanism of the adsorption. The results showed that Freundlich isotherm and pseudo-second order model were better to describe the adsorption behavior of potassium zinc hexacyanoferrate adsorbing cesium. The lab-scale test further indicated that the potassium zinc hexacyanoferrate was an effective adsorbent for cesium, the adsorption-microfiltration process was feasible to remove the cesium which could obtain perfect decontamination factor and removal, which were 77.2 and 98.7% respectively when the adsorbent dose was 0.083 g/L. The decontamination factor and removal would be improved further more if the adsorbent does increased.
