  • Abstract
    With the increasing demand for the access to the Internet, only 972.83 million people of world total of 6,420.10 billion have access to the Internet. This wireless research paper focused in designing and deploying a Wi-Fi network that delivers a free Internet access to people living in remote villages and other "inaccessible" areas around the world. A research team at Algonquin College, Ottawa, Canada designed, developed and tested broadband networks (802.11 b/g) using equipment that can be easily installed in rural and remote areas. The paper explains how to deal with the affect of climate, distance, power availability, terrain, and special service needs on the WiFi network performance. The Wi-Fi design is suited to delivering Internet access to remote communities in Canada North as well as in other remote areas around the globe especially in developing countries
