  • Abstract
An electrical conductive polymeric scaffold, Polyaniline/PLCL nanofiber mats was prepared using an electrospinning technique. The morphology of the PANi/PLCL composite fiber mats were investigated by SEM. The conductivity, wettability, and thermal stability were also determined. PC 12 cells were used to evaluate the toxicity and biocompatibility of the PANi/PLCL composite fiber mats. The PANi was toxic in the substantial extent, however the toxicity was reduced for PANi/PLCL nanofibers, as PANi was incorporated inside the fibers and therefore they did not contact directly with cells. The proliferation of neuron cells was also reduced on the composite fiber mat compared to the pure PLCL mats.
