Abstract
This paper examines an experience with two contrasting cases of developing similar collaborative online workspaces for teams distributed across many organizations. The paths for these development efforts involved traditional html/database technologies and Microsoft SharePoint technologies. The paper discusses the benefits and hindrances resulting from each implementation and illustrates novel uses of SharePoint.
