Abstract
The wood-based panels industry is the core industry of the comprehensive utilization of wood and conservation of forest resources in China and it is also the important component to guarantee the sustainable development strategy of the forestry. However, a great deal of energy and resources is consumed and the various additives such as the adhesives, the water-repellent, etc. are used in the production process of the wood-based panels, so the wood-based products will causes the environmental pollution and the resource recovery rate of the products will be also declined. This paper studied the production process of a certain particleboard factory in China, analyzed the environmental characteristics of the particleboard production process, explored the critical factors to cause the environmental load from the aspects of the energy consumption, the raw material consumption, the environmental impact and so on, so that it provided the foundation for improving the processing technique of the wood-based panels and reducing the environmental pollution.
