Abstract
In this paper we present a detailed theoretical model of a synchronously pumped H2 Raman laser taking into account transient effects and cascade scattering, and compare the results to the experiment. The maximal theoretical conversions reach 80% even for short trains of ten pulses at the optimal negative mismatch, which depends on both the pump pulse energy and a length of the pump train.
