  • Abstract
    This paper presents a quadrature voltage controlled oscillator (QVCO) with phase mismatch compensation circuit implemented in 0.18¿m technology. The implemented LC-QVCO, working from 4.1GHz to 5.2GHz, targets UWB application. Using on-chip mixer, a post-compensation image band rejection of 45dB was achieved, which is an indirect measure of quadrature phase accuracy. A low phase noise of -116dBc/Hz at 1MHz offset away from the carrier frequency of 4.51GHz is demonstrated. For a power consumption of 9mW, a figure of merit (FoM) of 181dB is obtained.
