Abstract
A new type of X-ray telescope contains the following idea in X-ray detection technology; (1) a new type of X-ray detector for energies 3-30 keV; (2) an array of solid state detectors; (3) a special design of collimator to provide an imaging capability at the relevant energies; (4) a structure which is particularly strong and light; and (5) special electronics developed to follow the counts in each detector and yet require minimal power. Methods similar to those used in experimental elementary particle physics are applied to the design of the electronic circuitry
