Abstract
This paper describes an integrative approach to represent knowledge structures and entities in the concurrent engineering (CE) enterprise. General types of knowledge are classified and presented in various perspectives and abstractions. A new concept of knowledge representation based on projections is introduced. It is demonstrated how the projection concept integrates various facets of CE. The benefits of the proposed representation scheme and potential application scenarios are discussed
