Abstract
The reliability of local area ring networks is studied. Some reliability measures are discussed. Situations that can result in operating failures are identified. Reliability improvement techniques that will result in reliable operation are discussed. Some techniques that will improve reliability using fault-avoidance and fault-tolerance mechanisms are presented
