  • Abstract
    The Hongkong Electric Co., Ltd. have been using SF6 gas insulated transformers (GTx) since 1981. By the end of 2001, we have a total of 4635 numbers of distribution GTx and 63 numbers of transmission GTx which represent about 92% and 54% of their respective total population in our system. With the excellent operating experience in the past 20 years, the company will continue to adopt GTx for all new installations up to their highest voltage of 275 kV. This paper describes the operating experience of GTx.
