Abstract
In military systems applications of low classification may run on computing platforms with higher classification. Personnel with low clearance are in these cases excluded from using the application, since they lack the authorization required by the computing platform. This is an inconvenient restriction. The classification of the application itself should set the clearance requirement, a principle which will improve the information flow and the efficacy of the application. The technological aspects of such an arrangement is the topic of this paper. Several alternative designs and technologies are analyzed, and a conclusive proposal for a prototype solution is presented, with a special emphasis on commercially available products.
